5G Development

SourceFeed have posted an article stating Samsung have begun tests on what they're calling 5G technology, the test so far have shown data consumption and sending up to 100x faster than 3G is capable of right now. They plan to release this 5G technology by 2020, meaning when this comes out it could revolutionise the way we deliver content to mobile devices. Read the full article here

Artefact 4

So after my 3rd artefact of disproving my gap theory i have carried on to proving against fluid layouts as a viable option for all types of content based responsive web design.

Following on from my testing from artefact 2 i used all the information to create three responsive layout types that closely mimic my results. I will create a 4th layout type that mimics the fluid layout then carry out a focus group to gain detailed results on which proves to be the most effective on a larger scale.
This will hopefully bring me results that the fluid layout does not work on a news based content site.

On a completely unrelated note from uni, this trailer needs to be watched. It's a band I've listened to for years and have a lot of respect for, plus the cinematography is absolutely stunning.

Artefacts

I've had a bit of a break though with the help of Emile!
From my research i've been trying to find a solution when i don't know exactly what the problem is yet.
Which is a bit stupid really.
I'm aware that Apps and Responsive design address two separate types of problems, but i think from this that information and issues are lost between the two solutions. What type of information i am unsure of!
My plan from now is to find a suitable content based site, two examples, one with an app and one with a responsive site. I will test both on users and find out what they gained from both experiences, however what i want to focus on is what they didn't gain, information they felt they lost out on, aesthetics  anything that affects the users experience.
From this i hope to find a trend through users experiences and build a solution based on the problems i have been given.

Artefact Catch-Up

Since my last meeting with Simon i haven't done any other artefacts, as i wanted to make sure that when i proceed with my artefacts that i'm definitely heading in the right direction.
I've been doing a lot of reading, as when i go into my third artefact (I had done three but i'm thinking what i want to proceed with will take another 3-4 artefacts.
My plan now is to change the mind set on responsive design, in comparison to Apps they have a very simple message to get across and i think sometimes it is conveyed through the aesthetics of the website.
I have been reading on the benefits of App design and i am yet to read into how these benefits are portrayed aesthetically.
The end result of these artefacts will be to create a site that is responsive across multiple devices, however the 3 most popular devices (According to my research Galaxy S3, iPhone and multiple blackberry devices [may need to check the last one]) Will have a unique browsing experience that is altered through the CSS of the site design. All in all it will be a best of both worlds situation.
I'll write more when i've written up all my research and decided where to go in terms of artefacts

Site Search, Update!

I've indexed my site with goggle. Yaaaay!
However Google put a statement underneath saying it takes some time to crawl the site for urls and information, which is a bit of a pain but my fault for not realising sooner.
My results page now looks like this;
Just waiting for Google to crawl the rest of the pages but it should update automatically.
Relieved it's finally sorted!
